Werner and Fahringer Lead US Pro CX Calendar

Kelly Warner and Rebecca Farlinger continued to lead the USA Cycling Pro CX calendar with a busy week of races in Indiana and New York State.

The Supercross Cup in Stony Point, NY brought together the top elite of the series with two C2 races on Saturday and Sunday. Werner finished 4th both days, Hyde was 2nd the first day and 3rd the next day. Lane Maher was 3rd on Saturday and 2nd on Sunday.

The series standings were narrowed down to the top five, but the rider standings remained unchanged, with Hyde remaining in third place, 181 points behind White. Gage Hecht and Tobin Ortenblad, who did not race on the Pro CX calendar, are fourth and fifth overall, respectively, with Hecht 83 points behind Hyde and Ortenblad another 27.

Farlinger had success in the Supercross Cup, winning two elite women's C2 races. Series leader Fahringer defeated Courtney McFadden on both days, with Carla Williams third on Saturday and Ruby West last on the podium on Sunday.

Fahringer was not the only elite woman in the series to achieve a double win, as Clara Honsinger scored two C2 victories at the Major Taylor 'Coss Cup outside of Indianapolis.

Honsinger, 23, defeated Raylyn Nuss and Sunny Gilbert on Sunday and topped them again the next day. Samantha Runnels was fourth both days. With this performance, Honsinger moved up to second overall in the standings, 93 points behind Fahringer. Caroline Mani did not fare as well this weekend, dropping from second to third place.

Magali Rochette also did not compete in the weekend's Pro CX calendar, dropping from third to fourth place, the same position as Honsinger. Gilbert remains in fifth place, 104 points behind Rochette.

USA Cycling's Pro CX calendar will continue on Saturday and Sunday with the C2 race at the North Carolina Grand Prix in Hendersonville.
