US Pro CX Calendar Returns with Major Taylor and Supercross

Following a weekend in which many top American racers followed the Pan Am Cyclocross Championships in Canada, USA Cycling's Pro CX calendar continues this weekend with four C2 races in New York and Indiana.

Kelly Werner and Rebecca Fahringer now lead the elite men's and women's standings, respectively, with 22 of the 34 races completed.

Werner and Farlinger raced in Canada, with Werner taking the men's Pan Am Cross title and Maggie Rochette the women's title, while the US Pro CX calendar continued at the Verge Northampton International in Massachusetts. Continued. Tobin Ortenblad and Caroline Nolan won both C2 races on Saturday and Sunday.

The series enters the home stretch. Werner now leads Curtis White 520 to 487, with Stephen Hyde at 320, U23 Pan Am Champion Gage Hecht at 293, and Ortenblad at 266.

Fahringer leads Caroline Mani, 485 to 459, with Rochette right behind at 436. Up-and-comer Clara Honsinger remains in fourth place in the series with 392 points, while Sunny Gilbert is in fifth with 280.

Warner, White, and Hyde will compete in the Rockland County Supercross Cup this weekend at Rockland Community College in Suffern, NY.

Fahringer will also be in New York to take on the challenge of Ruby West and West's teammate Courtenay McFadden. Last year, West won on day one and Fahringer on day two, and the slugfest will continue.

In Indiana, Honsinger and Gilbert are expected to battle for points in the Elite Women's Series with a two-day C2 race at the Major Taylor Cross Cup.
