Edvald Boasson Hagen becomes the 30th and final player from Decathlon-AG2R La Mondiale to continue his professional career in 2024.

The Norwegian Boasson spent the past three seasons with TotalEnergies, but struggled to find a new contract earlier this winter, telling Eurosport he did not want to race for the lowest pay offer up to that point.

Boasson Hagen joined his new team at a training camp in Calpe over the past few days, and Decathlon-AG2R La Mondiale officially announced his arrival on Monday.The 36-year-old Boasson Hagen is part of a revamped roster that includes fellow newcomers Sam Bennett and Victor Lafaye. Sam Bennett and Viktor Lafaye, who are also newcomers.

"This is a great opportunity for the team," team manager Vincent Lavenu said in a statement. Edvald has great experience and a lot of wins under his belt. I have followed him since he was an amateur. [His mission is very clear. In a group sprint, he will be able to form a train with Sam Bennett in the last few kilometers.

Boasson Hagen has worked for High Road, Sky, Dimension Data, and Total Energies, winning 81 races. His highlights include winning Ghent-Wevelgem in 2009 and three Tour de France stages, but he has not won a race since winning the opening stage of the Criterium du Dauphiné in 2019.

"I'm very happy to have the opportunity to join Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale," Boassonhagen said. 'It's a very solid team and forms part of cycling's history. It's my second training camp in Spain and I joined up with them two days ago.

"I'm here to strengthen the spring classics and help the team achieve the best possible results. I also want to pass on my experience to the young players and to score my last professional win."
